Women laughingEaves is a London-based charity that provides high quality housing and support to vulnerable women. We also carry out research, advocacy and campaigning to prevent all forms of violence against women.

At Eaves, we put the needs of women first. We are determined to give a voice to the most excluded women in society and provide direct, innovative services to support and empower women to help themselves.

Your chance to question all potential Women's Ministers on their manifestos for women and girls before the General Election.

The panellists are Vera Baird QC MP (Labour), Theresa May MP (Conservative), Lynne Featherstone MP (Liberal Democrat) and Caroline Lucas MEP (Green).
The Chair is columnist for The Independent Yasmin Alibhai-Brown.

Members of the audience will have the chance to question candidates and comment on their answers.

The Sojourner Project

The Sojourner ProjectThe Sojourner Project is a pilot scheme run by Eaves and funded by the Home Office, and will be operational until the end of February 2010.

It provides support for women with no recourse to public funds, who entered the UK on a spousal or partner visa and are eligible to apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) under the Domestic Violence Rule.

Current campaigns

Demand changeDemand Change! is the UK’s first campaign challenging the demand for prostitution It is a joint initiative by Eaves and OBJECT and aims to challenge the myths and realities surrounding prostitution and lobby for adoption of the ‘Nordic model’, which tackles demand for prostitution, decriminalises those selling sexual acts and provides adequate resources to assist people to exit prostitution.
