Children
It is often the case that if a woman is being abused by their partner, children will also become victims. Even if they are not physically abused themselves, witnessing regular violence against their mother will have psychological affects that can be equally, if not, more damaging.
Eaves Women’s Aid works closely with the Women's Aid, a national charity working to end domestic violence against women and children. It's website www.womensaid.org.uk has a wealth of information about children living with domestic violence. It offers advice and links to organisations that can provide direct help as well as advice and support to both victims and concerned friends and relatives.
The website outlines how children can be affected by violence and the signs to look out for. It has information on how you can help protect children and yourself, what is involved in moving into a refuge, and how you can support your children if you and/or they have experienced domestic violence.
