Support Volunteer
Detailed Description
A volunteering opportunity has arisen for a support volunteer in the Scarlet Centre. The centre is funded by London Councils and provides advice, support and advocacy to women who have been affected by violence, rape and sexual abuse, homelessness, prostitution, mental health and or/substance misuse.
The role will involve providing direct support to the five services that fall within the centre:-
- Advice and support service,
- Resettlement service,
- Young women's service,
- Amina - a support and befriending Scheme for women who have experienced sexual violence.
- Lea - an exiting prostitution project that provides advice and assistance to women in London who are involved in prostitution.
Ideally applicants will have some experience and knowledge around the following areas:
- Violence against women and girls
- Proving advice and advocacy support to vulnerable women planning
- Facilitating workshops or events to service users with a range of support and learning needs.

Hours of Work:
We are looking for somone who can commit to 1-2 days per week on an ongoing basis (minimum 6 months). This can be arranged around your availability.
Office working hours are Monday - Friday 9.30am - 5.30pm

Due to the sensitive nature of our work, successful applicants will be required to have a satisfactory disclosure through the Criminal Records Bureau.
